Dexter came home one day and informed me that I was in charge of editing and special effects for a new movie he was making. I was taken aback a bit because I had never given him any indication that this was something I was capable of handling. Since then I have found open source powerhouse software Blender – which is everything I ever wanted in a video editor and 3d modeling software. However I have no idea how to do any of that.
He takes after me – almost everything impressive I’ve ever done started with me stating that I could easily handle something that I was no where close to being ready to handle (professionally, in sports, with Mariel/kids, and countless computer adventures). So now any home video I shoot I am trying my hardest to edit it down to the quality frames, mix in music, and try to add a little more to my skill set with each one.
So this is fair warning. Expect to see lots of regular old boring home videos with funky (ill-used) video effects added to them posted here.
Hopefully by 2010 I’ll be ready to bring some kick-yah video effects to Dexter’s super hero movie.
